KairosPDX Learning Academy is pleased to announce the start of enrollment of students for the 2017-2018 school year when we will be serving grades K-4.
Our Executive Director, Kali Thorne Ladd, wrote an article with Ron Herndon of Albina Head Start featured in the Portland Observer titled “Well Intended but with Devastating Consequences: Pre-school promise risks isolating kids of color.” Additionally, KairosPDX is referenced and Kali is quoted in another article titled, “Preschool Promise Adverse to Albina Head Start: New requirements fail kids of color, advocates say.”
We are excited to move to PPS’ Humboldt School Building located at 4915 N. Gantenbein Avenue, Portland, OR 97217. We will move on Wednesday, June 29th starting at 8am. On Friday, May 29th 2015, KairosPDX presented the culminating celebration, showcasing teachers’ learning from our Community of Resistance Workshop Series. There were learnings from teachers committed to the transformative work creating inclusive classrooms for all children.
